A Seasonal Celebration of Renewal, Rivalry, and Renown

Ravencrest has burst with new life, color and chaotic prankster energy! The Thaw Festival is coming with the Treasures Below Expansion (1.1.0), bringing with it the warmth of the season and the spark of ancient rivalries. As the season changes, the whimsical but capricious Falren courts of Winter and Spring become locked in a war for control over the cycle. Lashinus, the Champion of Winter, seeks to extend his snowy dominion. But fear not! The radiant Kanis, Warden of Spring, has risen to rally Adventurers in the name of sunshine, growth, and new beginnings.

Embark on a seasonal journey by completing the story quest “Warm Up Time”, taking on Adventurer’s Board missions, and diving into dynamic events packed with action and surprises. As you push back the cold and embrace the warmth, gather Spring Bulbs, an exclusive event currency, to trade with Kanis for a collection of vibrant festival-themed items, unique cosmetics, and treasures that boost your Renown. 

There are two additional ways to obtain Spring Bulbs during the festival: one is by purchasing them directly from The Munk Shop, and the other is through Expeditions, which will be revealed soon! 

The Thaw Festival also comes with a new mechanic: for every Spring Bulb earned during the event, 1 $QUEST token from the Treasury will be burned, up to a maximum of 1,000,000 tokens.

A live counter in The Munk Shop will track the total number of $QUEST tokens scheduled to be burned, allowing players to monitor the community’s progress throughout the event.

The Thaw Festival comes packed with limited-time rewards waiting to be claimed. By trading Spring Bulbs with Kanis, Adventurers can get their hands on powerful consumables like the Springcake, the Grow-a-Plant trinket, and a vibrant selection of housing cosmetics: Spring Sun, Winter Cleaver, and the whimsical Spring Blossom. Each cosmetic is a Renown-granting NFT.

A Tale of Two Courts

Long ago, settlers from Lyderia brought with them a celebration of renewal and rebirth, a revelry to greet the arrival of Spring and bid Winter its due farewell. But not all were pleased, the Falren of the Winter Court, ancient spirits of Ravendawn, took great offense to this new tradition. Their verdant kin of the Spring Court, however, reveled in it.

Thus, a bitter rivalry bloomed between the two capricious houses. The Winter Queen, seeking to extend her dominion beyond what the cycle allows, sent forth her champion, Lashinus, to stomp out the blooming of Spring. Enraged by this affront, the Queen of Spring tasked her most loyal servant, Kanis, with guarding the sprouting season wherever Winter refused to loosen its grip.

As with all tales involving the Falren, the quarrel between Winter and Spring blooms anew with each cycle. And each time, people across the land gather to celebrate the Thaw Festival. May Winter at last retreat, so Spring can bloom and bring warmth, life and renewal.
